CyberGamer Premier League
February 15, 2013
CyberGamer Premier League (CGPL) is the new high-end competitive wing of CyberGamer, featuring the biggest competitions and leagues with some of their biggest prize pools.
As CyberGamer moved towards pushing CGPL they requested a nice sharp professional logo to represent the venture, one that stayed true to their current branding and colorscheme, but that was still distinct enough to represent the high quality leagues they were creating. It needed to appeal to gamers but also have enough of a corporate flare that it could be shown to potential sponsors of the leagues.
The resulting design came after a number of designs that didn’t quite capture the essence of the new venture, however once I started down the path towards where it has ended up, it was clear this is what it should be.
Made up primarily of an inverted version of the current CyberGamer logo, the CGPL logo is not unlike crests or emblems from other sporting events, and so spurs on some familiarity when first seen. A two-tier colorscheme was chosen using the CyberGamer blue and darkened shade, and the branding guide specifies what fonts should be used across the board when utilizing the CGPL brand.
