Amsterdam’s Power Supply was under threat because of the development of Killzone 2. A Dutch site has reported that game developer Guerrilla Games almost caused a blackout when their staff expanded from 45 to 200 during the production of the game, greatly increasing the drain on the local power supply. Sony had to come in and provide a diesel generator so the game could be finished.

The Grand prize for best incorporating the StarCraft, Warcraft, and Diablo universes into their theme park will win:

- 2 StarCraft II Beta Keys, what i’d have to say is one of the most anticipated games ever.
“PlayStation palmar hidradentitis”: a skin disorder caused by playing too much on a Playstation controller: it results in painful lesions on the palms of your hands. At least that’s what Swiss Scientists at University Hospitals and Medical School of Geneva have reported in the British Journal of Dermatology.
“The tight and continuous grasping of the hand-grips together with repeated pushing of the buttons produce minor but continuous trauma to the [palm] surfaces,” said Vincent Piguet and his colleagues.
A spokesperson from Sony Corp has responded stating that the findings involved only one case study involving a girl who had been hospitalized after developing the lesions on her hands. Sony also reiterates that they have successfully sold millions of the consoles for over a decade without a complaint.
“As with any leisure pursuit there are possible consequences of not following common sense, health advice and guidelines,” said Sony spokesperson David Wilson.
Other researches have already begun to investigate continuous use of the Nintendo Wii, with preliminary data suggesting the same results as the PlayStation research.
Team Fortress 2 finally got its anticipated update on Tuesday. The new update includes additional Scout Achievements & Weapons, new sound and multiplayer option improvements. It also has had 3 new maps added (cp_egypt, arena_watchtower and cp_junction) and had bugs fixed. Click here for the Full Documentation on the Update
You may have recalled that back in Mid-February it was mentioned about Cosplay for a Cause in which countless gamers were going to dress up and storm Adelaide Parliament in regards to the 18+ debate. Well event organizers, Gametraders, has postponed the event due to lack of numbers.
“We have received an overwhelming amount of support from the public on our drive to have an R18+ rating introduced in Australia, especially with our latest drive,” said Gametraders’ National Marketing Manager, Chad Polley. “We have listened to our customers and to the numerous forum postings and have taken into account new ideas on how to get our message across.”
The event, originally advertised for March 4th, will be held at a later date and in plain clothes. Sorry time to put the spandex away.
