Week 8 rounded out with a busy weekend. I spent over eight hours behind a sound desk over the course of two days, pretty sure I should of just slept under it overnight rather than going home. However I’m not a fan of the early morning waking up.
While sitting in the kitchen on Saturday eating breakfast loathing the impending feeling of having to get up early again the following morning, I discover my sister is up as well. Noticing she was packing and looking rather stunning I asked where she was going, she said Sydney. I was probably told this earlier in the week but clearly I hadn’t remembered. She also mentioned she had to go do some stuff with her boyfriend Bala that morning as well. I shrugged it off as being, well that’s her she got all those adventure genes.
My mum walks in confused, saying there’s someone at the door. Assuming it was Bala we didn’t really react until it wasn’t.
That’s where the journey begins.
My sister opens the door to one of her friends from school, holding a rose with a note bearing directions for her to follow.
Suddenly she’s off on another wild adventure, putting two and two together it’s not hard to deduce the purpose of it all.
Travelling across the state finding more roses with notes. You can guess what the last one said.
Congrats to them both on their engagement.
I haven’t seen my sister in person to congratulate her. There were mixed emotions coming home with the supplies from the day’s antics and seeing her empty bed, realising that this will eventually become a reality for every day.
But that’s life, and I’m glad she’s living it to the fullest.
