Week 4, late again but with the week that has just been this is the earliest it could be done.
Before you ask anything, that’s my awesome Sri Lankan brother-in-Christ dressed as a banana playing Capture the Lounge Suite (instead of Capture the Flag) on a 30+ degree day (Celcius).
Our church put on a youth and young adults conference called “Supernatural Faith”, an epic 3-day extravaganza featuring Ps David Hall. While it was pretty simple in its inception; it seemed getting myself and Bala (pictured) together to talk ideas would result in some convoluted concepts that suddenly I had to find a way to make happen.
While some were discarded through sheer inability to accomplish in what little time we had, many were achieved. Evidently then the result was an event that ended up doing some crazy things, even breaking some world records. Need 1 ball of string to hang stuff with; let’s get 12; now what do we do with all this string….
The culmination of farfetchedness, ease of access to certain resources, and youthfulness resulted in a game of Capture the Lounge Suite, on the hottest day of the weekend. We’ve had too much sugar for just Capture the Flag, no we need to include masks, sombreros, crates, big tvs, and couches.
Two players would be enforcers, there to insight hysteria and frustration, of course; emotions exacerbated by the heat. And to make them stand out, dress one up as a giant banana; and the other: a gorilla.
I do commend Bala though, the effort he put in and the passion he exemplified is an inspiration and I count it such a privilege to have him in my life.
