So it begins
July 2, 2011
Well my family is off to Queensland; well all except me. Commitments and timing mean I’ll be spending this time at home without them. Oh by the way, you need to drive them to the airport in the morning, get up before 7am. I’m not in high-school, I didn’t realise before 7 actually existed as a time. What are all these people doing up at this time? IPod connector from the Tarago has been used to MacGyver a portable speaker system together, my father the engineer and my younger brother the budding engineer, is there anything they can’t build. Evidently resulting in no iPod connector now in the car of choice for this little morning trip, need to grab the one from my car. Keys; wait no my keys, swapping gear between cars.
Check the list, is everything packed. Ok everyone is ready, I’m still at the kitchen counter drinking my coffee. Eventually we head off; some reference to the sunrise over the paddocks we’re passing by results in the Circle of Life now blasting out of the car speakers. “It’s the Circle of Life… And , der der dum di dum”, the amount of times it comes up, probably should learn the words.
My anxiety hits again and we need to stop, fortunately I have some vague idea of the area so easy to find a place. Servo smells like jelly crystals, the bad kind. Too much traffic, cold air helps; remember to breathe. Taxi drivers need to learn some etiquette. Wouldn’t mind listening to The Kingdom since I missed them last night. Hmmm, are they under ‘T’ or ‘K’.
Drop everyone off, GLHF; and so it begins. Slowly make my way home, Two Door Cinema Club the band of choice for the trip home. Still cold, where’s the heater controls in this car. The sliders have been slightly misaligned in the dashboard ever since dad pulled it out to do some wiring. It’s a good car….van, thing; sure a ute looks cooler but have they fit 2 x 2-seater leather couches in the back? or a queen-size mattress and base? actually thinking back it’s been used to cart so much stuff, valuable asset if I may say so.
Back home, turn the heater up, start the computers, open the blinds. Beanie makes me look like I’ve just broken into the house and using it as a meth house or something, at least I’m warm. Before I forget should put the gear back in my car. Where’s those keys again? Would seem they remembered to take everything, including my car keys. *sigh* Grab the spare keys; wait…. don’t rush out, these don’t have house keys on them. That’d be right, everyone is up in Queensland and within the first half an hour I’ve locked myself out of the house. Evidently the front door is locked so I can’t get out anyway, maybe I’ll leave the house keys on me, and another pair in the door just so I don’t get locked out. Walk outside, oh great in all the panic of where my keys are have now forgotten everything i need to put in my car in the first place; back inside then out then return to the warmth. Not even 9am yet, if this were a typical Saturday I still wouldn’t be up for another hour and a half. I get hungry by lunchtime when getting up at that time, how will i fair now I’m already feeling a bit hungry. My sister has left a coffee cup in the bathroom; tea? *sniff* no coffee, I didn’t think she drank coffee; looking at the cup I don’t think she actually did anyway. *yawn*
As per request, everything I need to remember has been written down.
Feed Cat . . . we have a cat?
Grandparents swinging by on the way home after the weekend.
Ok what now, have video work to get done, it’s been an hour maybe might as well write about these antics otherwise I’ll forget. Blogging and Yokey, my desk needs cleaning up. Apparently double XP weekend on Call of Duty Black Ops, Prestige 8 Rank 42 those last 8 are a killer; hopefully this will help.
Should do some site fixes but I’d rather just get lost in the fantasy world of COD at the moment, deal with real life later.
